Healing happens at a place where the body remains relaxed.
While the work can at times be deep and direct, together we find a way to work that honors and respects your body's comfort level. The philosophy of Rolfing shifted from a fighting with the body to a collaboration. There are times where the work must go deep, to the core of the pattern. This deep work, while sometimes intense, should still feel good and safe to the body. Most clients have reported that the work feels like satisfying deep pressure.
A session begins with a brief conversation covering any specific focuses, desires, and concerns to address in the session. Then a few minutes to look at posture, walking and movement patterns. This allows us to focus the session and the series on you as an individual so that you can receive the most benefit from the work. The vast majority of the session is manual therapy on the table. The end of the session involves integrating the work with some manual therapy and bringing awareness to the body.
